Wow, do I only use this blog thing on misappropriated pagan holidays?
This is probably of no interest to anyone, but did you know that Thanksgiving used to be at the autumnal equinox? Canada moved theirs back a few weeks for harvest reasons. But in the US, though you'll now hear that it had to do with a later harvest in the southern states, the official reason at the time it was moved (during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln) was because the holiday was "too pagan".
